Grievance Mediation or Arbitration. Grievance mediation is optional and voluntary. If mediation is pursued, the contractual timelines for processing a grievance shall be delayed during the period of mediation. Should the matter be unable to be resolved in mediation, the parties retain the right to move to the Arbitration procedure outlined in Section 19.6.
