Common use of Group Insurance and Health Care Benefits Clause in Contracts

Group Insurance and Health Care Benefits. 24.01 The company agrees to provide to all employees covered by this agreement Health Care Benefits as per the Master Agreement – Insurance Program for Hourly Employees, with the exception of S&A and LTD as provided to MSSC’s Local 127. 24.02 In case of leave of absence due to sickness or accident, the plans will be continued by the company for the benefit of such employees and dependents for a period of twelve (12) months. The company will review individual cases that exceed the twelve-month period. 24.03 The benefits will be in accordance with each of the said plans in force from time to time without exception. 24.04 In case of absence due to leave of absence for any reason other than sickness or accident, or while suspended or laid off, these plans will be continued at the sole expense of the company to the end of the month next following the month in which layoff occurs, as follows: Seniority Months Settlement Less than 1 year 0 1 but less than 10 years 3 months 10 years and over 6 months Continue group insurance coverage during normal pregnancy/parental leave of absence as required by Employment Standards Legislation. 24.05 The company will provide reimbursement at the current mileage rate per kilometer for a worker who travels more than 20 kilometers to an impartial Doctor for an exam to certify disability.
