Common use of Hair Style or Colour Clause in Contracts

Hair Style or Colour. No Artist may be required to change the colour and/or style of the Artist’s hair or shave the Artist’s head unless a rider outlining these requirements is negotiated, signed and appended to the COA Engagement Contract. The Engager shall pay for the expense of changing the colour and/or style and of its upkeep during the run of the engagement and of the restoration to the original colour, and/or style at the close of the engagement. Should it prove impossible, for any reason, for the hair to be restored to its original colour, and/or should the Artist suffer any permanent loss or damage to the Artist’s hair as a result of a required change in colour and/or style in the first place and/or subsequent restoration provided that restoration of the style is not simply a matter of the hair growing back to its original condition, then the Engager shall continue to pay the Artist’s weekly contractual fee until the hair and/or its former colour is restored, but for a period not to exceed fifty-two (52) weeks beyond the conclusion of the Artist’s COA Engagement Contract. When the Artist is required to xxxxx said Artist’s head, the Engager shall provide a wig satisfactory to the Artist for the Artist’s personal use.
