Higher Pay Class for the Entire Shift. When a regular employee works in a higher pay class the employee shall be paid the higher rate of pay for all the hours worked in that pay class. In the case of an employee working more than four (4) hours in a higher pay class the employee shall be paid the higher rate for the entire shift including maintenance employees.

If the employee meets the skills and abilities requirements of the position and chooses to remain in the reallocated position, the employee retains existing appointment status and has the right to be placed on the Employer’s internal layoff list for the classification occupied prior to the reallocation.
