ARTICLE Part-time employees shall be paid one and one-half times their hourly rate for the first two hours worked in excess of eight continuous hours in a day; Part-time employees shall be paid two times their normal hourly rate for all work performed on Sundays, on Statutory Holidays and all work performed in excess of ten continuous hours in a day; Double time will be paid for all work performed on a Sunday and on a Statutory Holiday or days celebrated in lieu thereof; Employees will be expected to work reasonable overtime, however, valid reasons for not working will be accepted. In the event that there are insufficient volunteers for overtime the Company shall have the right to designate the junior employee(s) to stay for up to one hour and the Store Manager shall make the decision for overtime: There will be no duplication of daily and weekly overtime premiums. Part-time employees shall be paid one and one half their hourly wage rate for all work performed of thirty-seven hours in a week. Sunday Work Work performed on Sunday shall be voluntary and in addition to the regular work week. Employees who volunteer to work on Sunday when stores are open for business shall receive a premium of per hour for al 1 hours worked. For the purposes of clarity "all hours worked on Sunday which is related to the store opening for business" includes hours worked up to three hours before store opening and one hour after store closing and night crew. The Employer shall pay all employees two times their regular rate of pay for all hours worked on a Sunday which are not related to the store opening for business. When rotation list for overtime has been exhausted and no one has volunteered to work, the junior employee by shift, qualifications, by department by reverse rotations will be required to work, this will be known as the customer service guarantee. WEEKEND OVERTIME Employees will be asked in order of seniority (both day and night shift combined) by rotation by and department. Hours worked in excess of two hours’ overtime in any regular work day shall be paid at two times the standard rate of pay. The first two hours of overtime will be paid at one and one-half tunes the standard rate of pay. Overtime work will be on a voluntary basis. However, since a reasonable amount of overtime is necessary for efficient operation of the Company’s business, the Union agrees to encourage employees to co-operate with the Company by working a reasonable amount of overtime to meet Advertising Department requirements. The Company further agrees to pay employees two times the standard pay for work performed on Saturdays. The Company further agrees to pay employees two times the standard rate of pay for work performed on Sundays. Sunday work shall be on a voluntary basis except in an emergency. Where an employee commences a shift on Sunday and continues to work beyond midnight on Sunday, he shall be paid two times the standard rate of pay until his regular Monday shift. When on any day it is necessary to work overtime after p.m., employees required to do so shall, if they so desire, be granted one-half hour for a meal period, without When an employee works at least two hours’ overtime over and above his regular working day, he or she shall be given a meal allowance of Three Dollars and Fifty cents Such meal allowance shall be paid by separate cheque on a weekly basis. When an employee works in excess of three two hours and during which there is no meal period, the employee shall be entitled to receive a paid rest period of fifteen minutes. Night crew start times shall The provisions of Article this Agreement affect all employees covered by this Appendix. ARTICLE Part-time employees shall be paid one and one-half times their hourly rate for the first two hours worked in excess of eight continuous hours in a day; Part-time employees shall be paid two times their normal hourly rate for all work performed on Sundays, on Statutory Holidays and all work performed in excess of ten continuous hours in a day; Double time will be paid for all work performed on a Sunday and on a Statutory Holiday or days celebrated in lieu thereof; Employees will be expected to work reasonable overtime, however, valid reasons for not working will be accepted. In the event that there are insufficient volunteers for overtime the Company shall have the right to designate the junior employee(s) to stay for up to one hour and the Store Manager shall make the decision for overtime: There will be no duplication of daily and weekly overtime premiums. Part-time employees shall be paid one and one half their hourly wage rate for all work performed of thirty-seven hours in a week. Sunday Work Work performed on Sunday shall be voluntary and in addition to the regular work week. Employees who volunteer to work on Sunday when stores are open for business shall receive a premium of per hour for al 1 hours worked. For the purposes of clarity "all hours worked on Sunday which is related to the store opening for business" includes hours worked up to three hours before store opening and one hour after store closing and night crew. The Employer shall pay all employees two times their regular rate of pay for all hours worked on a Sunday which are not related to the store opening for business. This provision shall not apply to employees on the night crew who may be required to commence their scheduled shift prior to midnight on Sunday night.
