Improving quality of life. The main vehicle for improving the quality of life for the Union's citizens is the change of the society and its economic basis from an industrial to an information-based society. It is this change that justifies the Information Society Technologies (IST) Program. The objective of the Information Society is to enable individuals and organizations to innovate and be more effective in their work, thereby providing the basis for sustainable growth and high added value employment, while improving the quality of working life. The establishment of the Information Society is a key objective of the EU in improving the quality of life for its citizens. The main enabler of the Information Society is the use of embedded systems in products used in various application areas including transports, energy distribution, integrated manufacturing, health, banking and services. Its successful realization is greatly dependent upon the quality of these products. ARTIST will contribute enabling European industry deliver guaranteed quality systems. This will greatly assist in the establishment of the Information Society, with its promise of improved quality of life for European citizens.

Improving quality of life. The demonstrator chosen for this project illustrates an application that has the potential to increase quality of life through activities aimed at reducing abuse, harassment and exclusion. Through a socially orientated application, the toolkit developed by VICTEC can be used to enhance education relating to abuse, harassment or exclusion. By allowing people to adopt different roles, and providing more realistic characters and using emerging narratives, it is anticipated that such simulations will be made more realistic and as such information will be retained better by those participating and will potentially have a larger impact. In the future, information technology will be ubiquitous, and those who are afraid of or uncomfortable with computational technology will be left behind. The introduction of the technology being poineered by VICTEC is of especial relevance to groups in this position and will help to combat the formation of an information underclass.

Devices installed to control sediment and prevent erosion shall comply with the requirements of the Georgia Tech Project Superintendent. The Contractor is responsible for monitoring downstream conditions throughout the construction period and clearing any debris, sediment, and dust caused by the progress of the Work. The Contractor shall inspect, maintain, and clear erosion and sediment control devices at least weekly unless otherwise directed by the Georgia Institute of Technology Construction Manager. At the conclusion of the Work, the Contractor shall remove all installed devices and restoring the site to the satisfaction of the Georgia Tech Construction Manager.

  • Quality of Services (a) The Consultant shall be responsible for the professional quality, technical accuracy, and the coordination of all designs, drawings, specifications, and other services furnished pursuant to this Agreement.

  • Management of Special and Technical Environment Each certificated support person demonstrates an acceptable level of performance in managing and organizing the special materials, equipment and environment essential to the specialized programs.

  • Quality Assurance/Quality Control Contractor shall establish and maintain a quality assurance/quality control program which shall include procedures for continuous control of all construction and comprehensive inspection and testing of all items of Work, including any Work performed by Subcontractors, so as to ensure complete conformance to the Contract with respect to materials, workmanship, construction, finish, functional performance, and identification. The program established by Contractor shall comply with any quality assurance/quality control requirements incorporated in the Contract.

  • Data Quality 4.1 Each party ensures that the shared Personal Data is accurate.
