Common use of In-Service Programme Clause in Contracts

In-Service Programme. (a) Both the Hospital and the Union recognize their joint responsibility and commitment to provide, and to participate in, in-service education. The Union supports the principle of its members' responsibility for their own professional development and the Hospital will provide programmes related to the requirements of the Hospital. Available programmes will be publicized. (b) When an employee is on duty and authorized to attend any in-service programmes within the Hospital during their regularly scheduled working hours, they shall suffer no loss of pay. When an employee is required to attend courses outside their regularly scheduled working hours, they shall be paid at their regular straight time rate of pay.
