Common use of Inclement Weather/College Closure Leave Clause in Contracts

Inclement Weather/College Closure Leave. During periods when inclement weather causes classes to be canceled, all unit members, other than those required to report to work to provide emergency or other essential services, shall be entitled to take Inclement Weather Leave. Such leave does not require the prior approval of the supervisor. Time spent on Inclement Weather Leave will be charged against the unit member’s vacation leave balance, or time can be made up within thirty (30) days at the request of the unit member which request shall not unreasonably be denied. When the President declares the entire College closed unit members will not be charged leave. Unit members required to report to work to provide emergency or other essential services shall be allowed comparable time off on an alternate date.
