Common use of Income Protection (LTD) Clause in Contracts

Income Protection (LTD). The District will provide each employee the option of participating in an income protection plan at the employee’s expense. If income protection payments are made while accumulated, unused sick leave is still being drawn, then, to the extent permitted by the insurance policy, the employee may, at the employee's option, continue to draw accumulated sick leave, not to exceed the difference between disability income payments and full pay or may take disability income payments and stop using accumulated sick leave, in which event, the unused, accumulated sick leave shall remain available to the employee.
