Eye Protection. Where an employee is required by the College or by legislation, in order to perform his/her duties, to acquire and wear prescription eye protection, the employee shall provide the College with proof of purchase by March 1 each year and the College shall reimburse to such employee, on the first pay day of April in each year, up to a maximum of twenty dollars ($20.00); in situations other than the foregoing, the College, may in its discretion, (which discretion shall not be unreasonably exercised) reimburse such expense where it is recommended by the health and safety committee constituted under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Eye Protection. Safety approved eye protection shall be provided to all employees where necessary. Employees who normally wear prescription glasses will be provided with safety approved eye protection containing lenses ground to their individual prescription, providing that the employee supplies the Employer with a copy of his prescription.
Eye Protection. Approved eye protection shall be supplied to individual prescription to all employees who normally wear glasses and are required to wear eye protection for an appreciable amount of time in the performance of their duties.
Eye Protection. Where the employer considers that an employee is working in an "eye danger" area the employer will provide the employee with either:
(a) standard safety glasses with neutral lenses, OR
(b) specially hardened neutral "clip on" safety glasses to be worn over normal optical glasses, where the employee works only occasionally in an “eye danger” area, OR
(c) specially hardened optically correct lenses in a safety frame, fitted by an optometrist, where the employee works for substantial periods in an “eye danger” area.
