Common use of Incurred Claim Definition Clause in Contracts

Incurred Claim Definition. For purposes of this Article IV, a claim is deemed to be incurred: (a) with respect to medical, dental, and vision benefits, upon the rendering of health services giving rise to such claim; (b) with respect to life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance, upon the occurrence of the event giving rise to such claim; (c) with respect to disability benefits, upon the date of an Employee’s disability, as determined by the disability benefit insurance carrier or claim administrator, giving rise to such claim; (d) with respect to a period of continuous hospitalization, upon the date of admission to the hospital; and (e) with respect to tuition reimbursement, upon the date that payment of such benefit is due within the meaning of the applicable tuition reimbursement plan.
