Common use of INDEMNITY BOND Clause in Contracts

INDEMNITY BOND. Prior to entering upon a sabbatical leave, the employee may file with the Governing Board a suitable bond indemnifying the school district for any salary paid the employee during the period of sabbatical leave in the event said employee fails to return and to render two (2) full years of service in the West Contra Costa Unified Schools following the termination of the sabbatical leave, or in the event said employee fails satisfactorily to carry out the program of study, or the itinerary of the trip approved by the Assistant Superintendent, Human Resources , the Superintendent of Schools, and the Governing Board. Failure of an employee to return and render service satisfactorily to complete the scheduled program of study or travel shall not result in a forfeiture of the bond when such failure is due to death, or certification by the school physician that failure was due to physical or mental disability
