Common use of Independent Status Clause in Contracts

Independent Status. The Consultant acknowledges that he/she is engaged as an independent contractor and shall perform under his/her sole responsibility. Nothing in this Agreement shall render the Consultant an employee, agent or partner of IUCN and the Consultant will not hold himself/herself out as such. The Consultant shall have no authority to enter into contracts or to incur any other legally binding commitment on behalf of IUCN. The Consultant shall not hold himself/herself out or permit himself/herself to be held out as having authority to do or say anything on behalf of or in the name of IUCN.
