Common use of Initial Certification Clause in Contracts

Initial Certification. Upon hire, professional/technical faculty will be issued an initial certification. The certification lasts for three years. During the three year period, the following requirements must be completed: (a) the development of a teaching effectiveness plan as described in Article 810.3, that at a minimum addresses the faculty member’s ability to develop, deliver, and assess learner centered instructional activities and courses, and (b) completion of a minimum of five activities related to the goals in the teaching effectiveness plan and linked to skill standards. The activities completed in support of the teaching effectiveness plan shall equal a minimum of six (6) PDUs worth of activities as outlined in the guidelines in Appendix A of this agreement. Initial certification is not renewable.
