Common use of Inspection and Construction Observation Duties Clause in Contracts

Inspection and Construction Observation Duties. The Consulting Engineer/Architect shall inspect and observe the execution of the construction work performed under the construction contract to see that the work is constructed in accordance with plans and specifications. Consulting Engineer/Architect shall report promptly to the City if satisfactory progress is not being made. The Consulting Engineer/Architect shall also monitor the traffic control plan. The Consulting Engineer/Architect shall re-inspect the project prior to expiration of the contractor's maintenance time period, inform the contractor of work to be performed, if any, and advise the City accordingly. The Consulting Engineer/Architect agrees that the Project Manager shall have the right to require removal from the Project of any inspector who in the opinion of the Project Manager is not performing his/her duties satisfactorily.
