Interim Maternity Leave Clause Samples

Interim Maternity Leave. Any employee whose accumulated sick leave days are insufficient to cover the period of leave as set forth in Section 17.01 above shall be granted an interim maternity leave without pay for a period not to exceed six (6) weeks; two (2) weeks prior to and four (4) weeks following the birth of the child. Employees on unpaid maternity leave shall be eligible to obtain group insurance benefits (with the agreement of the insurance carrier) at their own expense.
Interim Maternity Leave. 1. Any bargaining unit member whose accumulated sick leave days are insufficient to cover the period of leave as set forth in section 1 above, shall be granted an interim maternity leave without pay for the period during which the bargaining unit member is physically unable to perform her duties as determined by her physician who will certify in writing to the Superintendent, the physical disability caused by the pregnancy of the bargaining unit member.
Interim Maternity Leave. Any bargaining unit member whose accumulated sick leave days are insufficient to cover the period of leave set forth in this Article (12 weeks of paid) may use accumulated sick leave and following the exhaustion of accumulated unused sick leave, shall be granted an interim maternity leave without pay for the remainder of the 12 weeks allowed by FMLA, following termination of pregnancy. If such a member is unable to resume her duties because of complications or disabilities arising out of such pregnancy, said member shall be placed on maternity leave in accordance with the provisions of paragraph C. 1. of this Article.
