Juvenile Processing Office / Intake Facility. When a juvenile has been taken into police custody, the officer will transport the juvenile to a designated juvenile processing office or juvenile detention facility. 1. A juvenile processing office may not be a jail cell or holding facility used for detention of adults. 2. Purses, luggage, belt packs, hats, gloves and coat pockets, etc. of prisoners will be searched by the arresting officer. 3. Xxxxxx searches and xxx xxxxx of prisoners should be conducted by officers of the same sex as the prisoner. If an officer of the same sex is not available, an officer of the opposite sex may conduct a xxxxx or pat down search. In this case, a more thorough search should be conducted upon arrival at the police station if a communications officer, or other trained employee, ofthe same sex of the prisoner is available. a. The transporting officer will be held accountable for any prisoner arriving at any detention or police facility with a weapon or contraband. 4. Further, the child must be in an area where continuous visual supervision and sight and sound separation from adult offenders are maintained. 5. The following areas of the Xxxxxx Municipal Complex have been designated, by order of the Juvenile Court, as juvenile processing offices: a. Patrol Briefing Room #177 6. A child may not be left unattended in a juvenile processing office and is entitled to be accompanied by the child's parent, guardian, or other custodian or by the child's attorney.
