Laboratory Procedures. a. An employee of the testing laboratory shall remove the sealed plastic bag from the refrigerator at the collection facility, verify the integrity of the bag and transport the sealed plastic bag to the testing laboratory, where the date, time, name and signature of the receiving person is entered on the chain of custody record. Laboratories must comply with applicable provisions of any Federal and State licensing requirements. Accredited laboratories must have the facility and capability, on site, of performing screening and confirmation tests for each drug or metabolite for which service is offered and requested. The testing laboratory shall maintain a chain of custody record of any individual handling or testing an Employee's specimen.
