Law Enforcement Response to Mandatory Firearms and Weapons Reports. The (law enforcement agency) receiving information about the existence of an unlawful firearm on school grounds or the actual or threatened use of a non-firearm deadly weapon pursuant to Article 3.6 of this Agreement must immediately dispatch an officer to take custody and secure the firearm or other weapon. Except as may be specifically provided in Articles 7.4 and 9 of this Agreement, school officials must provide to the responding law enforcement officer information necessary to establish the chain of custody and the circumstances of the seizure or discovery of the firearm or other weapon, including the identity of any person(s) from whom the firearm or other weapon was obtained.
