Leave of Absence and Free Transportation. 22.1 Employees will be given leave of absence and free first class transportation to attend their meetings. Such leave of absence will not exceed two days and will only be granted when it will not interfere with requirements of the traffic and the service and provided the System is not put to additional expense. 22.2 Employees elected as full time salaried representatives of the employees shall upon request, be granted leave of absence without pay while so engaged. 22.3 Upon notification, an employee who must serve a period of incarceration as a result of a conviction arising from the operation or use of a motor vehicle, shall be granted a leave of absence without pay of up to six months in order to serve the period of incarceration. Such period of leave will not be credited towards accumulation of service.
