Leave of Absence and Free Transportation. 14.1 An employee shall be granted leave of absence of 30 days or less upon verbal request to his Supervisor when requirements of the service will permit. Authority for leave of absence in excess of 30 days in any calendar year will only be granted with the written consent of the supervising officer and the Local Representative, and such leave will not exceed 3 months but may be extended in the same manner. This paragraph does not apply to absence account sickness or physical disability or to employees elected as salaried representatives of the employees.
