Leave to Seek Nomination and Election to Political Office. Upon written request to the Vice-President Academic, the University shall grant to a Sessional Academic Staff Member leave of absence without pay to seek nomination as a candidate, and to be a candidate in municipal, provincial, federal or First Nations government. Sessional Academic Staff Members shall inform the Vice-President Academic when deciding to seek candidacy, and shall make every attempt to give the longest possible notice, and shall actively cooperate in arrangements for the uninterrupted continuation of the work of the academic unit.
