Leave Without Pay for Child Bearing Preparation and Child Rearing. 10.8.1 Leave without pay or other benefits (except as required by law) may be granted at the discretion of the District to a unit member for preparation for child bearing and/or Child-Care not covered under the terms of Article 10.7.1 through 10.7.1.3. Such leave may be requested by unit members who either do not qualify for the twelve (12) week leave period delineated in Articles 10.7.1 through 10.7.1.3 or those qualifying members who wish to apply for leave of absence in excess of the twelve (12) week period. Any leave request under this article exceeding twelve (12) weeks may be granted at the discretion of the District.
