Leaves Without Pay Other Than Maternity. 1. Leaves of absence without pay shall be granted upon application to tenure teachers for the following purposes. Such leave may be granted to non-tenure teachers at the discretion of the Superintendent. a. Study related to the teacher’s certification field. b. Study to meet eligibility requirements for a certification other than that held by the teacher. c. Acceptance of a teacher position in a foreign country for one year with such leave renewable for an additional year. Such teaching position shall be sponsored or approved by the Government of the United States. d. In cases of extreme personal hardship.
