Common use of Length and Effective Date Clause in Contracts

Length and Effective Date. (a) The probationary period is 6 months for a full-time or part-time employee newly appointed to a merit system position, unless there is a statutory training requirement or an existing practice of a longer duration not to exceed 12 months. (b) The length of probationary period for a promoted employee shall be 6 months unless there is a statutory training requirement or an existing practice of a longer duration not to exceed 12 months. (c) The Chief Administrative Officer may extend the probationary period of a newly appointed or promoted employee up to a maximum of 6 months to allow the employee the opportunity to improve.
