Length of Term and Extensions. (a) The specific term of a temporary position shall be specified on the posting whenever possible. The time period shall not exceed twelve (12) months unless otherwise approved by the Union. If a temporary position is to be extended beyond the total maximum of twelve (12) months, it shall be posted in accordance with Article 15 unless otherwise mutually agreed by the Union and the Employer. (b) In the event that a temporary position is to be extended beyond the initial specified period of time, the Employee may remain in the position throughout the period of extension up to a total maximum of twelve (12) months. Otherwise, the position shall be posted in accordance with Article 15.
