Linking to the Medical Conditions File. The condition-event link file (CLNK) provides a link from MEPS event files to the 2013 Medical Conditions File. When using the CLNK, data users/analysts should keep in mind that (1) conditions are self-reported, (2) there may be multiple conditions associated with a prescribed medicine purchase, and (3) a condition may link to more than one prescribed medicine purchase or any other type of purchase. Users should also note that not all prescribed medicine purchases link to the condition file.
