Long Lead Procurement. Construction Contractor shall review the Project design for the purpose of identifying long lead procurement items (machinery, equipment, materials and supplies) and consult with Design Professional concerning same. When each item is identified, Construction Contractor shall notify the subcontractors, Owner and Design Professional of the required procurement and schedule. Such information shall be included in the bid documents and made a part of all affected subcontracts. Construction Contractor shall keep itself informed of the progress of the respective subcontractors or suppliers, manufacturing or fabricating such items, and promptly advise Owner and Design Professional in writing of any problems or possible delays in delivery.

Notwithstanding anything in the Contract Documents to the contrary, in OWNER’S sole discretion, OWNER may elect to purchase any such long lead procurement items. In such event, upon execution of the Compensation Amendment, OWNER may assign to CONTRACTOR any purchase orders related to any such long lead procurement items purchased, whereupon CONTRACTOR must assume all liability and responsibility with respect to such items as if CONTRACTOR had purchased such items.

4.2.7.2 Contractor shall take such measures as are appropriate to provide that all construction requirements will be covered in the separate procurement of long lead items, the separate construction subcontractors and the general conditions items without duplication or overlap, and sequenced to maintain completion of all Work on schedule.
