Mandatory Professional Development. Where the Employer requires the attendance for Professional Development, including but not limited to mandatory First Aid training, WHIMS and Food Handlers Training, all time for attendance at such Professional Development shall be with pay only if attending the training organized by the Employer. If an employee is required and approved by the Centre Director to do training outside of being organized be the employer, they will be paid the equivalent time had they attended an employer organized training.

Mandatory Professional Development. Effective 2013-2014 fiscal year, the District will implement a program wherein all bargaining unit members assigned to the OSN shall be required to participate in mandatory professional development annually. The District reserves the right to modify the professional development courses offered. Failure to attend the professional development may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
Mandatory Professional Development. Employees are required to complete compulsory and/or mandatory training relevant to their role and work area by the Employer. To complete compulsory and/or mandatory training or attend internal or external professional development training, workshops or programs at the direction of the Employer, the Employer shall be responsible for the cost of the program and Employees are considered to be ‘on duty’. It is the intention of the Employer that all compulsory and or mandatory training will be completed in work hours. Where an Employee is required to attend compulsory training outside of the ordinary hours of work there will be a minimum engagement of 4 hours.
Mandatory Professional Development. If bargaining unit employees believe a professional development is not applicable to their job descriptions, they may ask the Principal to be exempted from attending that professional development. The Principal shall have final decision-making authority on whether to exempt a bargaining unit member from professional development.
