Common use of Manhole Channels Clause in Contracts

Manhole Channels. All manholes shall be channeled unless otherwise approved by the City. Channels shall match existing sewer grades. Channels shall converge smoothly and well- rounded into well finished junctions. Channel sides shall be carried up vertically to the crown elevation of the various pipes. Concrete shelves between channels shall be smoothly finished. All manholes shall have a minimum drop of 0.10 feet to a maximum drop of 2.0 feet between the inlet invert and the outflow invert. Invert drops greater than 2 feet shall require an energy dissipation device.
