MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING HEALTH AND SAFETY. The Company recognizes its obligation to provide a safe and healthful working environment for employees. The Union recognizes its obligation to cooperate in maintaining and improving a safe and healthful working environment. The parties agree to use their best efforts jointly to achieve these objectives. A joint Local Committee on Health and Safety will be established. The Local Committee will consist of one (1) representative appointed by the Company, and an appointed member of the bargaining unit. This Union Representative shall be permitted off his regular job for a maximum of two (2) hours per week to attend to his responsibilities in this regard.
