Metavante Systems Sample Clauses

The "Metavante Systems" clause refers to a provision, commonly found in ISDA Master Agreements, that allows a party to suspend its payment or delivery obligations if the other party is subject to certain insolvency proceedings. In practice, this clause is triggered when a counterparty enters bankruptcy or similar events, enabling the non-defaulting party to withhold payments or deliveries that would otherwise be due. Its core function is to protect parties from the risk of making payments to an insolvent counterparty, thereby managing credit risk and ensuring that obligations are not fulfilled to entities unable to reciprocate.
