Middle School Preparation Period Buy Out. 8.1 Middle school teachers who agree to be assigned an additional course (6 out of 6 periods) to be taught long term during their preparation period, will be paid 1/6 of their annual salary prorated from the first day of teaching the extra period. This will be in place to compensate teachers for the additional time needed for preparation outside of the school day.
