Middle School. When it is necessary to assign beyond the maximum of 249 minutes of instruction per day, the following factors will be considered: student needs, certification, qualifications including curricular expertise (current or recent teaching experience), merit and ability (including performance evaluations, if available), availability, teacher request, and seniority when all other factors are judged to be equal. Such instructional period shall replace the one (1) student support period, and the teacher will be compensated one-sixth of the salary listed on the salary schedule at MA Step 6.
