Motorcycle Assignment. The City will reimburse newly assigned motorcycle patrolmen up to $1,500 for any necessary equipment purchased for the assignment (helmet, boots, coat and/or pants). Employees are eligible only one time for this payment. The City will reimburse motorcycle patrolmen for a new helmet meeting NDOT standards every five (5) years. Per NDOT requirements, the certified helmet must undergo safety inspection, and when the helmet certification expires or it becomes damaged, the helmet must be replaced.

Motorcycle Assignment. During the period in which an employee is assigned to operate a motor driven cycle as a part of the employee's regular duties, said employee shall be permitted to drive such vehicle home, provided the employee's residence is located within the boundaries as contained in Appendix "X".
Motorcycle Assignment. The City recognizes that the amount of off-duty compensable working time attributable to all ordinary aspects of motorcycle care including without limitation minor maintenance and inspection, monthly washing and waxing, daily cleaning, storage, and delivery to service repair facilities) by employees assigned to duty as motorcycle officers amounts to twenty minutes per day, four days in seven day week. This amount is a good faith estimate, intended to be comprehensive, accurate and inclusive of all pertinent facts. The rate of pay for all off-duty motorcycle care performed by a Police Sergeant assigned to motorcycle duty is 1 ½ times the employee’s regular rate of pay per hour. If and when a Police Sergeant assigned to motorcycle duty performs any extraordinary work involving the motorcycle, the employee shall report such work immediately to the employer in writing and in no event less than 24 hours. Extraordinary work includes, but is not limited to, any work which causes a substantial increase in work time beyond what is compensated in the first paragraph of this agreement.
Motorcycle Assignment. Officers assigned as a Motor Officer will receive an additional five percent (5%) of their base wage hourly assigned as a Motor Officer.
Motorcycle Assignment. Each Police Association employee assigned to motorcycle duty shall receive $100 per month pay allowance. When an officer is transferred to another assignment, this pay allowance shall cease. If the transfer occurs during the month, the officer shall be entitled to a pro rata portion of the monthly allowances for that portion of the month spent in the motorcycle assignment.
