The employment contract is entered into a. for either an indefinite period of time (as an 'open-ended contract') b. or for a fixed term c. or for performing a certain set of activities. 2. The individual employment contract shall state the applicable form of employment contract. If this statement is lacking, the employment contract shall be deemed to have been entered into for an indefinite period of time. 3. If the contract is entered into for a certain period, the term of the contract shall be stated. 4. The possibility of early termination of a fixed-term employment contract by giving notice can be agreed in the employment contract (article 3.10 paragraph 2).
