Negative Impacts of Decommissioning. (a) Loss of jobs and income The people that will be employed to operate and maintain the water and sewerage Project system will lose their jobs immediately after the closure of the project. The loss of jobs will have far reaching impacts as it will lead to loss of income and social stress. Mitigation measures include:  Notify the employees in advance on the Project closure date and adequately compensate them;  Dismissal procedures to be compliant with Employment Act, 2007;  Provide counselling & alternative skills for alternative activities;  Employer should find alternative means of livelihood for the staff who were employed at the solar power plant.
