NEW JERSEY SECURITY AND FINANCIAL EMPOWERMENT ACT. In accordance with the New Jersey Security and Financial Empowerment Act ("NJ SAFE Act"), HMH provides eligible team members with up to 20 days of unpaid leave during any 12-month period to attend to a variety of matters related to an act of domestic violence or sexual assault committed against the team member or a family or household member. At the conclusion of the leave, subject to some exceptions, a team member generally has a right to return to the same or an equivalent position. The following outlines team members' rights and obligations under the NJ SAFE Act, and HMH's policies implementing the NJ SAFE Act, subject to the revised NJ ESL law.
