Common use of Notice to VTA Clause in Contracts

Notice to VTA. The right to determine that a reduction in force is necessary and the time when it shall occur is the employer’s prerogative, pursuant to the provisions of Management Rights Article. Nothing in this Agreement shall be construed to imply otherwise. At least thirty (30) days before the effective date of any reduction in force and five days before any employee is officially notified of a layoff, the VTA will be given a list of affected classes and of employees selected for layoff, and given the opportunity to discuss alternatives.
