Any Employer business requiring the union xxxxxxx’x immediate attention will be completed prior to attending the meeting or hearing. Union stewards must submit a union paid release leave request to record the time and will suffer no loss in pay for attending management scheduled meetings and hearings that are scheduled during the union xxxxxxx’x work time. Attendance at meetings or hearings during the union xxxxxxx’x non-work hours will not be considered as time worked. Union stewards cannot use state vehicles to travel to and from a work site in order to perform representational activities unless authorized by the Employer. If the amount of time a union xxxxxxx spends performing representational activities is affecting their ability to accomplish assigned duties, the Employer will notify the Chief Xxxxxxx and the Council Representative and may not release the employee.
