Common use of NUMBER OF DAYS IN SCHOOL YEAR Clause in Contracts

NUMBER OF DAYS IN SCHOOL YEAR. 1. Consistent with RC 3313.48, and the CBA, the school year for all teaching personnel who are returning employees of the Waterloo Local School District shall be the number of hours submitted to and approved by the Ohio Department of education. In no event shall the number exceed one hundred eighty (180) days multiplied by seven (7) hours and ten (10) minutes for a total of one thousand two hundred ninety (1,290) hours. In addition to these hours, the school year shall also include: a. In-service Day of seven (7) hours and ten (10) minutes the day before school begins. b. In-service Day of seven (7) hours and ten (10) minutes the day after school ends. The school year for teachers new to the Waterloo Local School District shall be one (1) additional day of seven (7) hours and ten (10) minutes beyond the returning teachers’ school year.
