NUNAVUT NORTHERN ALLOWANCE. 39.01 Nunavut Northern Allowance will be paid to every employee, based upon the community in which they are employed, in accordance with this Article. (a) Subject to 39.03, the Allowance will be paid bi-weekly as set out in Article 24.02. (b) The allowance for casual, part-time and seasonal employees will be pro-rated to an hourly rate by dividing the annual rate for the community by the standard yearly hours (1950, 2080 or 2184). (c) No allowance will be paid for overtime. 39.02 The Annual rates for Nunavut Northern Allowance are as follows: Coral Harbour 23,292 Xxxxxx Inlet 18,517 Repulse Bay 21,894 Whale Cove 21,564 Cambridge Bay 19,716 Gjoa Haven 26,345 Kugluktuk 22,042 Kugaaruk 26,639 39.03 Indeterminate employees have the option to receive the Nunavut Northern Allowance payment in one lump sum, payable on March 31 after it has been earned. Employees who wish to receive Nunavut Northern Allowance in this manner must notify the Employer prior to March 15 of the previous year. For example, an employee who wishes to receive the Nunavut Northern Allowance as a lump sum payment on March 31, 2008, must notify the Employer of his/her desire to do so by March 15, 2007.
