Object Storage Sample Clauses

Object Storage. The SURFsara object storage service allows general purpose online storage of large quantities of data. The data is stored as objects in a flat structure of containers (this is in contrast to a traditional file system storage which organises data in a hierarchy of folders and files). The Object Storage can scale up far beyond the capabilities of file-based storage systems. Access is via the OpenStack Swift and Amazon S3 protocols. This means that existing tools that support Amazon S3 API can be used to access the service.
