TRANSPORTATION, TRAVEL TIME AND ROOM AND BOARD. 13.01 The Employer shall remunerate employees for travel time and mileage as follows:
a. There shall be a free travel zone of thirty-five (35) kilometres around the Employer’s base of operations. All distances referenced herein shall be measured as the shortest route, on a paved road, and as calculated by Google maps, or equivalent. Any worksite within the free zone shall be exempt from the provisions herein.
b. For any project beyond the free zone, the employee shall be paid a travel allowance equal to the time travelled from the Employer’s base of operations to the worksite, but not for return travel. Such payment shall include or generate vacation pay, benefit, pension or other fund contributions.
c. Employees that are requested to use their own vehicles to; for all travel outside of the free zone, for travel to more than one worksite in a day within the free zone, or to transport materials necessary for the work shall be reimbursed for the use of their personal vehicle at a rate of fifty cents (50¢) per kilometre driven. When an Employer asks that an employee transport others to a worksite, the Employer shall reserve the right to make reasonable carpooling arrangements.
13.02 When employees are sent to work on a project beyond one hundred and forty (140) kilometres from the Employer’s base of operations, and remain working on such project for consecutive days (in excess of one work day):
a. they will be paid a daily subsistence allowance of forty dollars ($40.00) for each day spent out of town;
b. they will be provided, in the opinion of the Employer, with suitable accommodation. An employee who is assigned to accommodations that do not include adequate kitchen facilities shall be paid an additional ten dollars ($10.00) per day;
c. they will receive a non-taxable travel allowance for the time spent travelling to and from the work site at the beginning and end of the work week only.
d. they will be transported to the job by the Employer, or where the Employer does not provide transportation, shall receive mileage reimbursement as described in Article 15.01(d) for the trip to and from the project each week.
13.03 The Employer shall make arrangements for parking when employees are assigned to a worksite where no adequate parking exists.
TRANSPORTATION, TRAVEL TIME AND ROOM AND BOARD. 13.01 When employees who are covered by this Agreement are required to travel to jobs in which an Employer is involved and which lie outside a forty-five (45) kilometre radius from the Employer's Shop, the following conditions shall apply:
a. the transportation of the employees shall be provided by each Employer and in that Employer's vehicles;
b. when this rule is impractical for an Employer, and the employee is required to use his own car, the employee shall be reimbursed at fifty cents per kilometre (50¢/km) for any distance travelled outside of the above limits;
c. the Employer will arrange to pay for parking at job sites where the Employer directs the employee to drive their personal vehicle;
d. where an employee is required to use a public means of transportation, his Employer shall bear the full cost of such means of public transportation;
e. for jobs which are outside a forty-five (45) kilometre radius from the Employer's shop, employees shall be paid both ways at one-half (½) their regular hourly rate for the time it takes from the job to his Employer's headquarters, in addition to any reimbursements set out in Article 13.01 b., c. or d. above.
13.02 Where jobs are undertaken by the Employer in areas which are at any distance from the Company's Headquarters or home base and where employees are required to find board and lodgings, that Employer shall make the necessary arrangements and bear the costs of such board and lodgings. Where a company account or credit card is not provided for expenses, a daily out of town meal allowance of fifty-five dollars ($55.00) per day, including travel days, shall be paid.
TRANSPORTATION, TRAVEL TIME AND ROOM AND BOARD. 14.01 The Employer shall remunerate employees for travel time and mileage as follows:
a. There shall be a free travel zone, which is defined as a fifty (50) kilometre radius around from the Employer’s base of operations;
b. Employees who are required to use their own vehicles for transportation purposes outside the free zones shall be reimbursed at a rate of thirty-six ($0.36) per kilometre.
14.02 When employees are sent to work on a project beyond one hundred and twenty (120) kilometres from the Employer’s base of operations, and remain working on such project for consecutive days (in excess of one work day):
a. they will be paid a daily subsistence allowance of fifty dollars ($50.00) for each whole day spent out of town;
b. they will be provided with, in the opinion of the Employer, suitable accommodation;
c. they will be paid their regular hourly rate for time travelling to the project, but not otherwise;
d. they will be transported to the job by the Employer, or where the Employer does not provide transportation, shall receive mileage reimbursement as described in Article 14.01 for the trip to and from the project each week. The Employer shall reserve the right to make reasonable carpooling arrangements.
TRANSPORTATION, TRAVEL TIME AND ROOM AND BOARD. 12.01 Transportation, travel, and mileage are as follows:
a. There shall be a free travel zone (the “free zone”) described
b. For projects outside the free zone, including projects located out of town, the Employer will provide transportation and will pay for travel time. Provision of transportation usually means use of the Employer’s vehicle but can include Employer paid public transit or, where agreed by the employee, use of the employee’s vehicle with payment of mileage by the Employer. Travel time equals one half of the round trip time travel time from the Employer’s shop (or a mutually agreed marshalling area) to a project and return to the shop.
c. Mileage, where applicable, is paid for all kilometres travelled from the Employer’s shop to the project and return. The mileage rate is forty-eight ($0.48/km) cents per kilometre. Mileage is not paid to employees when the Employer provides transportation, but the employees elect to drive directly to the job site.
d. The same amount of travel time is paid to each employee in the crew traveling to the same job site from the same marshalling area.
e. Where the Employer requests employees to transport the Employer’s tools, equipment, materials or personnel with their own vehicle and the employee agrees, the Employer shall pay mileage and travel time for all distance and time traveled whether within or outside the free zone. Distance and time in this article are to be measured using Google Maps as the shortest distance by paved road calculated at the time of travel and excludes toll roads unless Employer is paying the cost of the toll.
TRANSPORTATION, TRAVEL TIME AND ROOM AND BOARD. 13.01 When the employees who are covered by this Agreement are required to travel to jobs in which the Employer is involved and which lie beyond the limits of the Regional Municipality of Niagara and the Regional Municipality of Xxxxxxxx- Xxxxxxxxx, the following conditions shall apply:
a. the transportation of the employees shall be provided by the Employer and in the Employer's vehicles;
b. Where this rule is impractical for the Employer and the employee is required to use his own car, the employee shall be reimbursed fifty cents (50¢) per kilometre beyond the limits;
c. employees shall be paid both ways at one-half (½ their regular hourly rate) for the time it takes from Regional Municipality of Niagara and/or the Regional Municipality of Xxxxxxxx-Xxxxxxxxx boundary to the job, in addition to any reimbursements set out in Article 13.01 b., d., or e. Such time is excluded from the daily and weekly overtime calculations;
d. where an employee is required to use a public means of transportation, the Employer shall bear the full cost of such means of public transportation;
e. where an employee lives outside the Regional Municipality of Niagara and/or the Regional Municipality of Xxxxxxxx-Xxxxxxxxx and is assigned a job outside the Regional Municipality of Niagara and/or the Regional Municipality of Xxxxxxxx-Xxxxxxxxx, mileage will be paid as per Article 13.01 b. for the distance over forty (40) kilometres to the jobsite and from the jobsite each day. Employees shall be paid both ways at one-half (½ their regular hourly rate) for any distance from the forty (40) kilometre boundary to the job site. Such time is excluded from the daily and weekly overtime calculations. Applicable distance will be calculated based on the shortest reasonable distance travelled by road using Google Maps or an agreed upon alternative.
13.02 Where the jobs are undertaken by the Employer in areas which are at any distance from the Employer's headquarters or home base and where employees are required to find board and lodgings, the Employer shall make the necessary arrangements and bear the costs of such board and lodgings.
13.03 It may be necessary in some cases that a special arrangement will have to be negotiated concerning travelling. Such arrangements can be implemented only after agreement has been reached between the Employer, the employee(s) involved and the Union.
TRANSPORTATION, TRAVEL TIME AND ROOM AND BOARD. 14.01 Employees shall report to the shop/marshalling point every morning and shall use Employer-provided vehicles for travel to job sites.
14.02 If the shop/marshalling point changes, the Employer shall inform employees and the Union. The parties reserve the right to amend the transportation and travel provisions of the Agreement if there is a significant geographic change.
14.03 Employees who are required to use their own vehicles for transportation purposes from the shop/marshalling point to the job site(s) shall be reimbursed at a rate of fifty-three cents ($0.53) per kilometre.
14.04 Employees that are requested to use their own vehicles to travel to different sites in one day or to transport materials necessary for the work performed shall also be reimbursed at the mileage rate established in this Agreement.
14.05 When employees are sent to work on a project beyond one hundred and twenty (120) kilometres from the Employer’s base of operations and remain working on such project for consecutive days (in excess of one work day):
a. they will be paid a daily subsistence allowance of thirty- five dollars ($35.00) for each whole day spent out of town;
b. they will be provided, in the opinion of the Employer, with suitable accommodation;
c. they will be paid their regular hourly rate for time travelling to the project, but not otherwise;
d. they will be transported to the job by the Employer, or where the Employer does not provide transportation, shall receive mileage reimbursement as described in Article 14.03 for the trip to and from the project each week. The Employer shall reserve the right to make reasonable carpooling arrangements.

a. There shall be free travel zones, as described below, except for the occasions as described in Article 14.

a. There shall be a free travel zone, which is defined as a twenty-five (25) kilometre Radius from 000 Xxxxxxxx Xxxx, Xxxxxx XX (Xxxxxx’x Bay);
b. Employees who are required to use their own vehicles for transportation purposes outside the free zones shall be reimbursed at a rate of forty-two cents ($0.42) per kilometre.
c. When an employee is required to travel outside the travel free zone they will be paid mileage both ways, and one way for the time spent traveling outside the travel free zone. While traveling inside the city of Ottawa, but outside of the travel free zone, mileage shall be paid both ways but travel time will not be paid.
TRANSPORTATION, TRAVEL TIME AND ROOM AND BOARD. 14.01 Where jobs are undertaken by the Employer in areas which are at any distance from the Employee’s residence and where the employees are required to live away from home, the Employer shall:
a. make the necessary arrangements for accommodation;
b. provide a daily allowance to cover each employee’s food & beverage costs, as follows:
i. Forty-five dollars ($45.00) per day that an employee works out of town (where accommodation includes a kitchen/efficiency suite). If the accommodation does not include a kitchen/efficiency suite, the daily allowance be fifty dollars ($50.00) per day. For the purpose of this per diem, out of town is defined as a project that is more than one hundred kilometres (100km) from the employee’s home;
ii. Mileage is not payable under the provisions of Article 14;
iii. Any variance from the above standard requires written agreement between the Employer and the Union;
iv. An employee may apply to the Employer and the Union to be considered a local hire (and there for not eligible for the per diem above) for the duration of an out of town project, and such approval shall be subject to agreement between the Employer and the Union. The above agreement shall be indicated in writing on a release form provided by the Employer, with a copy provided to the employee, the Union Office, and xxxxxxx(s).
TRANSPORTATION, TRAVEL TIME AND ROOM AND BOARD. 12.01 If the employer authorizes the use of an employee's vehicle for transportation of employees to and from jobsites, the owner shall be paid at least fifty cents ($0.50) per kilometre for such use.
12.02 Employees shall be obliged to travel together as much as possible to eliminate unnecessary car usage.
12.03 When an employee's vehicle is used for hauling company materials, the owner shall be paid twenty-five cents ($0.25) per kilometre for such use in addition to mileage specified in 14.01 above.
12.04 There is no paid travel time to projects within the area described as a circle, having a radius of forty (40) kilometres with the employee’s principle residence at the centre. Outside this area employees are paid for travel, both to and from the project, calculated at fifty cents ($0.50) per kilometer. The principle residence of the employee at the commencement of the job shall be considered his principle residence for the duration of the job for the purposes of this article.
12.05 When an employee is asked to travel from one site to another site within the same workday they will be paid at the rate of fifty cents ($0.50) per kilometre for each kilometre travelled and for any extra mileage the employee may incur returning home from the second job site.
12.06 For projects that are out of town one hundred and twenty-five (125) kilometers from the employee’s principle residence the following shall apply:
a. Mileage reimbursement as calculated above, is paid.
b. The Employer shall make mutually agreeable arrangements for lodging.
c. The Employer shall pay each employee who is required to stay overnight in lodging, a daily food allowance of forty dollars ($40.00) per day for each day that the employee is out of town, and
d. Regardless of the amount of work available, the Employer shall pay at least four (4) hours per day that an employee is out of town, provided the employee was able to work. Where there is sufficient daylight or where lights are provided, where there is no inclement weather, where the work can be commenced prior to 4 pm, and where it is safe to do so, the employees will be expected to work at least four (4) hours on such project.
