Objects of the Plan. 8.8.1 To protect the secondary school teachers of the Lakehead District School Board in the event of a serious illness, from loss of wages, by allowing them to use the accumulated unused portion of their annual sick leave allowance. 8.8.2 To provide secondary school teachers of the Board upon retirement with a gratuity in the manner as set out in clause 8.12 of this article. 8.8.3 In the event of a teacher dying during employment with the Board, payments of a service gratuity shall be made by the Board to the personal representative of the estate of the teacher.
