Office Space. The Employer agrees that, subject to its availability, office space at institutional settings which employ Bargaining Unit members shall be provided. The provisions of this Article shall apply to any new State office building constructed during the term of this Agreement. Subject to its availability and in accordance with Department of Management and Budget and/or Departmental regulations, the Union shall be permitted to lease office space in State owned buildings. No partisan political activity shall be conducted in such facilities, and no partisan political literature or material ridiculing individuals by name or obvious direct reference or defamatory or detrimental to the Employer, shall be prepared in or distributed from such facilities. Such premises shall be for the sole and exclusive use of the Union, and shall be provided to the Union, for the lowest possible charge or fee, if required. This fee shall not include telephones. Access and security will be in accordance with institution or Departmental rules. The Union will maintain such space in appropriate condition and in accordance with its lease or other requirements of the Employer. The Employer reserves the right to withdraw approval for the Union's use of such premises, upon thirty (30) days written notice to the Union only due to operational requirements, failure to pay rental charges, misuse by the Union or its Agents, or interference with State operations in accordance with terms of the lease. If approval is withdrawn due to operational requirements, the Employer will make a good faith effort to provide alternative office space. Where office space is not available the Employer shall make available, upon request, a private meeting room where the Union Representative may meet with a Bargaining Unit employee for Union representational activities, such as a meeting with a grievant. Office Space. The Employer agrees that(a) In-so-far as possible, subject to its availabilitythe University Administration shall provide each faculty member with enclosed office space with a door lock, office space at institutional settings which employ Bargaining Unit members equipment commensurate with assigned duties and responsibilities, and ready access to a telephone, a computer, a university email account, a listing on campus distribution lists, and an internet connection.
(b) Before a faculty member’s office location is changed, or before there is a substantial alteration to a faculty member’s office to a degree that impedes the faculty member’s work effectiveness, the affected faculty member shall promptly be notified and provided the reason(s) necessitating the change or alteration.
(c) If the faculty member is on sabbatical or leave with or without pay, a letter notifying the faculty member of the change or alteration shall be providedsent by U.S. Mail, Return Receipt Requested, to the faculty member’s home address at least fifteen (15) days prior to the intended change or alteration. In those cases in which immediate action is required the faculty member shall be notified immediately.
(1) The provisions faculty member may provide to his/her chair or supervisor the name, address, phone number, and e-mail address of this Article shall apply a designee to any new State supervise the the removal of personal effects from the faculty member’s office building constructed during while the term of this Agreement. (3) Where the faculty member has not provided a designee, or where neither the faculty member nor the designee respond prior to the intended change or alteration, the Administration shall have the authority to pack and store for a reasonable time the faculty member’s personal effects.
(d) Each faculty member shall, consistent with building security, have reasonable access to the faculty member’s office space in State owned buildings. No partisan political activity shall be conducted in such facilitiesand laboratories, studios, music rooms, and no partisan political literature or material ridiculing individuals by name or obvious direct reference or defamatory or detrimental to the Employer, shall be prepared like used in or distributed from such facilities. Office Space. To the extent possible, The Employer agrees that, subject to its availability, University shall provide each faculty member with office space at institutional settings which employ Bargaining Unit members and office equipment commensurate with assigned responsibilities. Such equipment shall normally include a telephone, a computer, and an internet connection. Each tenured or tenure-accruing full-time faculty member shall be providedprovided with an enclosed individual office that has a door lock, except in a circumstance where to do so would not be reasonably possible. Non-tenure-accruing faculty members and part-time faculty members in a department or equivalent unit may be provided office space on a shared basis if it is not possible to provide individual offices, or if such faculty volunteer to share office space. Full-time faculty members who provide confidential counseling services with the title psychologists, psychiatrists, student counseling specialists or other mental health clinical faculty shall be provided with an enclosed individual lockable office, except in a circumstance where to do so would not be reasonably possible. Each faculty member shall, consistent with building security, have reasonable access to the faculty member’s office space and laboratories, studios, music rooms, and the like used in connection with assigned responsibilities. This provision may require that campus security provide access on an individual basis. Change in Office Space. A faculty member shall be notified, if practicable, at least one (1) month prior to a change in the faculty member’s office location or a planned alteration to a faculty member’s office that impedes the faculty member’s work effectiveness.
