Common use of One-Fourth Conversion Clause in Contracts

One-Fourth Conversion. If the employee has used more than three, but not more than six days of sick leave, not including time spent on personal business or bereavement, he or she would have the following options: 16.4.5.1 Xxxxx over the accrual and add it to his or her sick leave balance. 16.4.5.2 Xxxxxxx, only to the extent that his/her balance is more than zero at the beginning of the new year, one-fourth of the accrual to vacation or convert one-fourth to cash (but no combination of these two); unused, unconverted leave would then be added to the employee's sick leave balance.
