ORIENTATION AND EDUCATION. Section 1. When orientation is provided for new employees, the Employer shall inform the new employee(s) that their position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, and provide the name of a designated Federation representative who can be contacted by the employee during non-duty hours to provide additional information. Section 2. All in-service training classes required by the Employer shall be conducted during an employee's normal working hours or the employee will be given compensatory time for required training held during off-duty hours. Section 3. The Employer may grant per diem and related expenses for educational leave subject to budgetary constraints.
