Other Religious Observances. Employees who are members of a recognized religion are entitled to up to one (1) days leave without pay per calendar year to observe a recognized spiritual or holy day. Where possible, a minimum of thirty (30) days’ notice is required. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld. Employees granted leave under this provision may utilize banked time as per Article 14.06.

When two weeks' notice is not possible due to the unpredictable nature of the spiritual or holy days, then as much notice as possible will be provided. Employees granted leave under this provision may utilize utilise or reschedule unused vacation, lieu days, or banked overtime (compensating time as per Article 14.06off).
