Injury Pay Provision. An employee who is injured on the job during working hours and is required to leave for treatment or is sent home for such injury shall receive payment for the remainder of her shift without deduction from sick leave.

(a) An employee who is injured on the job during working hours and is required to leave for treatment or is sent home for such injury shall receive payment for the remainder of his/her scheduled and assigned hours on that day provided the injury results in the employee being approved for a Workers’ Compensation Board claim.
(b) Employees eligible for sick leave coverage pursuant to Article 28 (Sick Leave) shall have the option to access such coverage for the first day of absence due to injury. Where an employee is subsequently approved for a WCB claim for the same injury, the sick leave credits paid for the first day of injury shall be reinstated to the employee.

An employee who is injured during working hours while performing his duties of employment and who is sent home from work by the Company shall be paid for the time lost on the day he was injured at his regular straight time hourly rate for the unexpired portion of his scheduled work day. Any injured employee will be required to attend a health care facility to be diagnosed. Transportation to/from the health care facility will be provided by the employer.
